cam-epc670
The cam-epc670 driver is a Linux kernel V4L2 sub-device driver for the epc670 Time-of-Flight sensor. It enables low-level communication with the sensor and integrates it into the Linux media and video pipeline. Additionally to the V4L2 interface, the driver also exposes debugfs entries for low-level access to sensor registers and status information, and hwmon interfaces for monitoring sensor parameters such as temperature.
The driver is responsible for:
Sensor register access over I2C
Mode configuration and timing control
Integration time and modulation settings
Frame synchronization
Media controller integration
Exposing user controls through V4L2
Packaging
The driver is provided through:
epc-drivers debian package
User Space Interfaces
The cam-epc670 driver provides user-space access primarily through the V4L2 framework, which is used for image capture, streaming, and device control. In addition, the driver exposes further interfaces via standard Linux subsystems for monitoring and debugging purposes.
Host Platform Integrations
The cam-epc670 driver can be integrated with different host platforms, each providing its own camera framework, data path, and control mechanisms. This section describes how the driver is connected to platform-specific components and how image data is routed through the respective capture pipelines.
